Somerton resident caught smuggling $150K worth in meth

Border Patrol agents arrested a 34-year-old man after he attempted to smuggle methamphetamine late Wednesday.

The incident happened at around midnight when agents referred a silver 2012 Hyundai Sonata to secondary inspection and discovered 43 packages of meth weighing approximately 50 pounds.

The estimated street value of the meth found is $150,000.

The vehicle and contraband were seized, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.
