RNC makes stop in Yuma to show their commitment to voters
The midterm elections are August 28th and in order to inform and prepare R epublican voters, the Republican National Committee is here in Yuma.
According to az.gov, as of March 1st, there were 87,000 registered voters in the state of Arizona and that number was only expected to have gone up since the last day of registration on July 31st.
Representing the Republican party for Governor are candidates Doug Ducey, Ken Bennett, and Robert Weber. U.S. Senate candidates are Kelli Ward, Martha McSally, Joe Arpaio, Nicholas Glenn, and William Gonzales. State Senate candidates are Don Shooter, Sine Kerr, and Brent Backus.
Christiana Purves, regional communications director for the RNC says, “We just need Republicans who are working with the president to make sure that we are delivering wins for the American people.”
The RNC says they are confident they will do well come November. Purves says, “We’re not blind to the fact that we have had wins ahead of us, especially being the majority party going in to a midterm after the presidential, but thanks to our data program and the ground game that we’ve built here in Arizona, we know that we have a very good chance to defy history this November.”
The Committee is tasked with building strategies and gathering data for whichever candidates come out on top in the primaries.
“We expect them to come out and vote for Republicans especially in Arizona,” says Purves.
Dan Duffey, Deputy State Director of the Arizona Republican party is confident that the Republican party will keep its position in the S enate .
“We’re here to win and that’s all we’re focused on. We just want to do the best we can so that we’re not looking back on November 9th thinking we should’ve done this, or we should’ve done that,” Duffey says.
As for Kyrsten Sinema, Duffey does not think she will have a chance against the Republican party.
“She is a ‘prada socialist’ as she says herself and that just doesn’t play with Arizona values, so we think that once people see who Kyrsten Sinema really is, that she’s not going to do well here,” Duffey said.

The Democratic candidates for Governor are David Garcia, Steve Farley, Kelly Fryer, and Mirza Baig. For the U.S. Senate, Kyrsten Sinema, and Deedra Abboud. State Senate candidate is Lisa Otondo.
