Border Patrol arrest man, seize meth thrown over border fence
Border Patrol agents arrested a man suspected of smuggling methamphetamine near the Calexico Port of Entry Saturday afternoon.
This happened at around 6 p.m. when agents noticed an individual in Mexico throw a package over the border fence. As the individual saw the agents approaching, he began to run. After a brief foot pursuit, he was arrested and the package he received from Mexico was recovered.
The package tested positive for methamphetamine with a total weight of two pounds. The drugs’ estimated street value of $5,300.
The man, a 27-year-old U.S. citizen, and the narcotics were turned over to the Homeland Security Investigations for further investigation.
