Victim involved in attempted homicide speaks out
The Yuma man who was involved in an attempted homicide incident spoke to News 11 Monday and shared the encounter he had with the driver who shot him.
The victim, who said he wishes to remain anonymous, said the incident began near Sprouts on 4th Avenue, in Yuma.
According to the victim, a car matching the description police released Monday pulled up next to him.
He said the driver began asking him for directions. However, when he was unable to help, the driver allegedly pulled out a weapon and shot him.
The anonymous victim said he was shot in the chest. He also said he immediately ran north toward Maverick’s Bar and asked a nearby business to call the police.
According to the Yuma Police Department, the incident is still under investigation. Authorities encourage the public to come forward with any information that may lead to an arrest.
The 26-year-old victim said he didn’t have a relationship to the suspect.
