July 15 is national ice cream day

Looking for a way to cool off today? You’re in luck! July 15 is national ice cream day!

Restaurants across the nation are finding various ways to celebrate this “sweet” day with discounted desserts.

National ice cream day was declared in 1984 and even then, the ice cream business was successful generating $3.5 billion dollars in annual sales.

Because offers and participation vary based on location, it is best to contact your closest location before venturing out.

Dairy Queen: After downloading the DQ app, you can get a free small Blizzard treat at participating locations.

PetSmart: At stores with PetsHotel facilities, dogs can get a free 4-ounce serving of dog-safe ice cream.

Sam’s Club: From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and Monday, Sam’s Club is offering free samples of the ICEE float at all locations. No membership is needed to sample the float available in the Sam’s Club Cafe.
