Good Samaritan in Foothills fire
A good Samaritan has come forward in relation to the fire that took place in the Fortuna Foothills on July 4.
Jeanette Aivazia thought she would be heading to a family member’s party to celebrate Independence Day, but her plans changed when she and her cousin saw flames nearby his neighborhood.
“My cousin thought it was kind of close to his house, so we wanted to go check it out. We were going down the road, we didn’t hear no sirens, or see no lights or anything. So we thought we’d just go check it out. We were coming around the corner and as we were going around the corner this lady was running down the middle of the road screaming and she got to the car and she just hit the ground,” explained Aivazia.
Aivazia said the woman was bleeding.
The woman sustained those injuries from escaping from her home, according to Rural Metro Fire.
Aivazia jumped into action until first responders arrived on the scene.
“She kept trying to get up and like run away again, but I kind of kept her down and my cousin got me something to stop the bleeding, which was a diaper. So, I just held the diaper on her leg while my cousin called the paramedics,” said Aivazia.
She said paramedics said her help was a good thing.
“Just that it was a good thing that I stopped the bleeding, that I was keeping it under control,” said Avazia.
She said she is glad she was able to render aid to the woman.
There are no further updates on the condition of the woman.
