Lane restrictions on Interstate 8 to begin on July 9

The Arizona Department of Transportation advises drivers to plan ahead for lane restrictions on I-8 near Araby Road beginning at 4 a.m. on Monday, July 9.

Contractors are scheduled to replace bridge barriers as part of the I-8 and Araby Road traffic interchange improvement project.

The following restrictions will be in place 24 hours a day for seven days through Friday, August, 17:

I-8 will be reduced to one lane in both directions on a one mile stretch between the Araby Road Exit and milepost 8 beginning at 4 a.m. Monday, July 9. The speed limit will be reduced to 55 mph. A 14-foot-vehicle width restriction will be in place. Delays are likely, so travelers should allow extra travel time. Drivers should slow down, obey posted speed limits and traffic control devices, and use caution around construction personnel equipment.
