Freedom Fest kicks off tonight

Freedom Fest, the annual 4th of July event in Imperial County, kicks off this evening. Event organizers expect anywhere from 20 thousand or more locals to join the celebration. After six months of preparation. One event official told me this is the place to be to catch the greatest fireworks show as far as the eye can see.

“Old fashion family fun, on the fourth of July. Yeah it’s hot that’s no secret we know that. But it’s a family event. And it’s a place that you feel safe to bring your kids to. There’s gonna be an incredible amount of things for kids to do out here,” said Gene Brister, Chair of Freedom Fest Committee.
