One man shot in Somerton

The Somerton Police Department said one man was shot Wednesday night, but failed to cooperate with police on finding the shooter.

The incident happened around 10 p.m. When police arrived they found the victim, a 23-year-old man, in the 500 block of W. Crane Street. He was shot in the arm.

Police said they took the victim to Yuma Regional Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Officers said the victim did not want to give any information to police, including a suspect description.

Police do not believe this is gang related incident. Police said reports stated there were about six to nine shots fired in the area. No other injuries were reported.

Several bullet holes were found at the apartment complex where the incident happened. A gray vehicle’s windows were shattered, tires were popped, and with six bullet holes found around the vehicle.
