Border Patrol confiscated over $135,000 worth in methamphetamine that was hidden inside a vehicle at the Highway 86 checkpoint Thursday afternoon.
Agents at the checkpoint encountered a 24-year-old man driving a blue BMW SUV at around 12:36 p.m.
A canine detection team alerted to the vehicle leading agents to send the driver to secondary inspection. Agents then discovered hidden compartments containing 13 packages of meth hidden inside the vehicle.
The drugs had a combined weight of 41.2 pounds with an estimated street value of more than $135,960.
The man, a Mexican citizen and lawful permanent resident of the U.S. was turned over to the Drug Enforcement investigation including the vehicle and narcotics.
