Local father faces new obstacles after wife’s passing
New’s 11 brought you the story of Jonathan Rios a couple of months ago after his wife Carmen Rios was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Now, Rios has a new journey as a single father.
Carmen Rios passed away last week surrounded by family.
Rios and her husband share a one-year-old son.
The couple traveled from Los Angeles to an immunity therapy center in Tijuana where doctors took the risk of treating her even if statistics showed low rates of survival.
“We never gave up faith, she never gave up faith till literally till the end” said Jonathan Rios.
Her husband is now facing hardship on finding ways to pay for funeral expenses after all his life savings went towards keeping his wife alive and giving her a chance to fight.
