Vehicle collision under investigation
California Highway Patrol reported a vehicle collision on Tuesday night at approximately 8 p.m.
The driver, identified as 57-year-old Raul Garcia, was driving northbound on SR-111 south of Dowden in a 2002 BMW at an unknown speed.
Garcia made an unsafe turn causing his vehicle to move the left, across the southbound lane and off the west road edge.
The vehicle overturned on the shoulder and Garcia, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.
Garcia was transported by paramedics on scene to Desert Regional Medical Center by REACH air for complaint of pain.
During the investigation Garcia was found to be driving under the influence of alcohol and was arrested.
The collision is still under investigation.
