Board approves construction for medical marijuana facility

Yuma County will soon welcome a medical marijuana facility after the Yuma County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted for the project’s construction on Tuesday.

The company, Kactus Kush Farms LLC, was given the green light to begin construction in Hyder, Arizona.

According to Yuma County Board meeting minutes, the site of the dispensary will be near 17 1/2 Street North and Avenue 74E.

Communications Director for Yuma County, Kevin Tunell said the project could potentially lead to economic growth for the County.

“Economic boost for the community,” Tunell said. “All of the districts will benefit from [and] they are promising to employ up to 50 people, so it’s a win-win as far as the community sees.”n

The project is expected to begin at any moment, according to Tunell.
