Suspected Yuma package thief arrested
Yuma Police arrested a suspected package thief Wednesday evening with the help of home video surveillance and an eyewitness getting a license plate number.
Sebastian Cortez, 25, was arrested Wednesday at 5:35 p.m. for allegedly stealing packages in a 2006 gray Mazda van, taking packages off of porches in the Yuma area, police said.
Most of the houses targeted were located west of 4th Avenue. There were five cases of stolen packages reported to police between May 30 and June 6, 2018.
A second suspect is known and charges are being forwarded, police said.
Yuma Police were able to recover some of the stolen items.
