Agents arrest five illegal immigrants found inside vehicle
Border Patrol agents arrested five illegal immigrants found inside a vehicle near the Tropicana Motel around noon on 4th Avenue Tuesday.
The Yuma Police Department said a 16-year-old boy driving a Kia Sorrento was involved in a hit-and-run accident that happened on 4th Avenue and 16th Street.
The second vehicle, a white Chrysler Town & Country, had minor damages to the rear bumper while there were no damages to the Kia.
YPD then called Border Patrol to assist them in the traffic stop near 4th Avenue and 22nd Street. Border Patrol agents stopped the 16-year-old driver and found five illegal immigrants inside the Kia Sorrento.
The 16-year-old driver was not arrested but was cited for failure to control, no insurance, no valid driver’s license, and leaving the scene of an accident.
