Police identify suspect involved in Yuma shooting
Police in Yuma released the name of the suspect involved in Wednesday’s shooting, that left two victims with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Daniel Munoz.
Police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of the 2000 block of S. Avenue A on Wednesday, at approximately 12:02 p.m.
When they arrived they found the two victims with gunshot wounds. YPD has also confirmed that they were the ones that crashed into All Seasons Florist.
Both victims were taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries. Police have not confirmed their ages or where they gunshot wounds are located.
At around 1:30 p.m. one of the suspect vehicles was located in Somerton. The Yuma Police Department Special Enforcement Team was deployed to the area of Somerton Avenue and Fulton Street to make contact with the suspect.
Munoz was taken into police custody at 5 p.m.
He is facing charges of attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault and criminal damage.
YPD is still looking for the third vehicle involved. The second person arrested was released after being interrogated, according to YPD.
