Local dancers gear up for nationals competition

Taking a look at the bright side … a group of local dancers are making their way to stardom.

A team of six girls between 14 and 17 years old. They are gearing up for their national competition in July where they will compete against hundreds of dance teams from all over the U.S. They are heading to Los Angeles to dance in the the “LA Dance Magic” competition.

Most of these girls have been dancing together their whole life. From Jazz to Ballet, Hip Hop to Musical Theater, and so much more, they can do it all and are planning on bringing the heat this year to Nationals.

“Our team is very very close,” 15-year-old Reagan Sheppeard said. “We have so much fun together and we go out and compete and at our last competition we got first overall so we won out of the whole competition. It’s awesome to be able to represent Yuma in such a good way and going out and competing against these big dance studios It’s super awesome for people that would love to sponsor us or help us to go out because it’s such an awesome competition for us to be representing Yuma at and anything helps,” she said.

They have been working on their routines since September, putting in countless hours and crushing it at every other competition leading up to this final performance. They are looking for your help as they represent Yuma.

If you or your business are interested in sponsoring these girls contact A.S.A.P. Dance Academy at ( 928) 919-0433.
