Yuma County school districts are announcing their modified schedules due to the school closures during the statewide movement for better teacher pay and school funding.

Gadsden Elementary School District

The Gadsden School District will modify their school schedules for the remaining days of the school year.

The district will not have early releases for Monday, May 7th, and May 14th and will instead have full days of classes.

The district’s last day of school remains scheduled for May 30th.

Yuma Union High School District

Yuma Union High School District modified its daily schedule to make up missed instructional time.

Here are the announced changes:

The next two Mondays, May 7th and May 14th, will be regular bell schedules (not early release).

The final week of school will include two regular bell schedules and two early dismissal days, as originally planned. Monday, May 21 and Tuesday, May 22 will have regular bell schedules, while Wednesday, May 23 and Thursday, May 24 will have early dismissal times. Each campus will notify students and parents of their specific schedules for early release on those final days of school.

Graduation will take place as regularly scheduled on May 25 at Cibola, Gila Ridge, Kofa, San Luis and Yuma high schools, and May 23 for Vista Alternative High School. Diplomas will not be withheld or issued “blank.”

Families are encouraged to direct any questions about their school’s specific bell schedule to their school office.
