5th annual Women’s Empowerment Conference

The 5th annual W omen’s Empowerment Conference took place Friday morning. Hosted by the Healing Journey, the luncheon started at 8am and lasted until 2pm at the Goodwill Career Center.

A free event, women were able to get free services as well as purchase items from brands like Mary Kay and jewelry vendors along with getting a free lunch and free salon services. This annual event being in its fifth year had it’s highest turnout yet, with over 160 women in attendance. Founder of the Healing Journey, Estrella Fitch shares the purpose of this event.

“To empower women, give them the resources. Let them know what’s out there for them. That’s all it’s ever been about. That you have the possibility to heal, all things are possible, but you have to make that choice.”

Resources like the Healing Journey offer life coaches and therapy to those in our community dealing with mental or physical abuse. The main speaker of the event was Eve Scarf, the Vice President of Foothills Bank, who is also a domestic violence survivor.
