Recipient of the SBDC award

Every year an award is given by Arizona Western College to a small business in town making a name for themselves in the community. This years winner was Jose Villa, owner of Eddie’s Grill on 4th ave.

The name coming from his brother who is also apart of the restaurant business. Eddie’s Grill is a chain with three different locations. Two in California and one in Yuma. The restaurant opened in the Desert Southwest three years ago and has had an unbelievable amount of success. Earnings have reached over $1.6 million dollars annually in less than the three years. Jose attributes the fresh-food, fast-food approach to its popularity.

“This award is actually a big deal for us. It’s results of the hard work that we have done in this property. We were chosen from 13 other locations among others in the whole state and I got to represent Yuma,” said Villa.

Due to the success of Eddie’s Grill on 4th ave, Villa says plans are in the works to open another location in the foothills area soon.
