Rollover Crash sends two to the hospital

It’s a rare but terrifying sight to come upon an accident where a vehicle is upside down and people are trapped inside. That was the case on Wednesday afternoon when first responders were called to a scene involving a van and a small coupe. The impact had forced the van to roll onto it’s roof leaving it’s passengers trapped inside.

The crash happened just after two in the afternoon in the area of Avenue A and 3rd Street. Traffic had to be diverted around a two square block radius. Within minutes crews with the Yuma Fire Department and Rural Metro were on scene helping those injured. At least two people were transported to the hospital because of the extent of their injuries. Traffic Officers with the Yuma Police Department were on scene to determine exactly what caused the crash and to see who was at fault.
