Well-known doctor dies in rollover crash

A single car rollover takes the life of a well-known Yuma doctor. News 11’s Madison Kimbro went to the late doctors office to get some insight on the type of man he was.

Dr. Clarence Clark, who was once Chief of Staff at Yuma Regional Medical Center continued his practice as an internist at the Yuma Medical institute at the Southwest Medical Center. According to the Department of Public Safety, Dr. Clark was driving his SUV when it began to drift across the other lane making him lose control as he approached the edge.

His car then rolled into the median. He was pronounced dead at the scene. We spoke with one of his patients that just found out this morning of his passing.

“I was in shock. My husband and I both were. We just could not believe this had happened. He’s such a wonderful awesome Doctor. We adore coming to his practice and his staff is amazing. if we ever had a problem we could come to him and he could spend a whole hour with you, a whole hour and a half with you if he needed to. it wasn’t a rushed thing. That’s what we liked about him,” said Maria Ceniceros.

The question still remains what exactly caused the doctor to lose control of his vehicle. When I spoke to another patient of his, who didn’t want to be on camera, the man broke down and cried saying that he knew his family well. A gofundme account has been set up for the Clark family and services in his honor will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday at “Church For the City” in Yuma.
