Arizona educators to return to class Thursday if budget proposal passes

Red for Ed leaders announced Tuesday that Arizona teachers will return to class Thursday if the Legislature passes the budget proposal.

The legislature is expected to vote Wednesday as walkouts are expected to continue that day.

“[Ducey’s] budget does not do enough for our kids or for our colleagues. We are staying committed in fighting for our students,” said Noah Karvaelis, the organizer with the Arizona Educators United group.

Teacher walkouts began last Thursday throughout the state in support of the Red for Ed movement.
