Authorities said attempted abduction was a false alarm

San Luis Police Department said they are still looking for the man who attempted to abduct two 8th grade female students from Southwest Junior High School on Thursday.

Police said this was a false alarm and they are glad the girls alerted police about this situation.

The incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. The man is described as a man approximately 5’7″, white, with blue eyes, and bald with a beard and wore a shirt with palm trees and shorts. He was driving a mid-sized dark blue truck.

According to San Luis Police Department, the girls took off running and the man followed. According to the girls’ statements given to police, they said there were no threats and the man was just trying to give them money for their balloon that flew away.
