City of Calexico announces Diego Favila as new Fire Chief

The City of Calexico has announced Diego Favila as the new Fire Chief of the Calexico Fire Department as of Monday, March 26th.

Chief Favela has been employed with the Calexico Fire Department for over 22 years. Favila began as a reserve firefighter in 1995, firefighter paramedic in 1996, promoted to Fire Captain in 2004 and has served as Interim Fire Chief since March of 2017.

According to the city, Chief Favila has proven his commitment to excellence and his motto “Look Sharp, be Sharp” is practiced within the department.

“We are so proud to announce that one of our very own has been officially named Fire Chief of the Calexico Fire Department. A very special congratulations to Fire Chief Diego Favila. Chief Favila has been serving as interim Fire Chief for the past year. We are excited to see what the future will continue to bring us with you at the helm. Congratulations Chief,” said the Calexico Fire Department.
