CBP officers arrest man smuggling meth strapped to torso

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrested a 19-year-old man from San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora on Saturday after a failed attempt to smuggle methamphetamine.

Officers at the San Luis Port of Entry’s pedestrian crossing referred a man for additional questioning as he attempted to enter the United States.

A canine alerted officers to search the man and discovered more than 3.5 pounds of meth, worth nearly $11,000 wrapped around his torso.

CBP officers seized the drugs and turned the man over to the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
