San Luis CBP officers stop pedestrian smuggler

A cross-border traveler was arrested Sunday at the San Luis Port of Entry after a failed drug smuggling attempt.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers working the pedestrian lanes referred a 37-year-old U.S. citizen from Ontario, Calif. for a secondary search when he attempted to enter the United States.

A CBP canine alerted officers to discover one and a half pound of meth, worth $4,600 stuffed into the front of his pants.

CBP officers seized the drugs, arrested the man, and turned him over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
