Community Safety and Awareness Presentation

The conversation of school safety is staying alive with recent reports of suspicious activity this year around our local schools.

The Crane Elementary School District will be hosting a seminar for parents and students to avoid dangerous situations. The purpose of the presentation is to serve as a bridge for parents and students to local law enforcement when it comes to school safety.

Yuma Police Department sergeant Lori Franklin says it’s not only knowing how to identify a ‘good stranger’ from a ‘bad stranger’ but reporting any unusual activity parents and students see to or from school.

If you are interested in learning more signs and information, The Community Safety and Awareness Presentation is Tuesday night at Pueblo Elementary from 5:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. For high school students, the Community Conversations hosted by the Yuma Union High School District will begin Tuesday night at Kofa High School from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
