Rock legend dies at age 82
On Monday, The City of Yuma said good bye to one of their own; Nokie Edwards died in a Yuma hospital at age 82. The Oklahoma resident is considered a Rock and Roll legend and his name rests alongside other legends in the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame. Edwards played guitar for “The Ventures” you had several chart topping hits through out the years including “Walk Don’t Run”, “WipeOut” and the theme song to the popular television show “Hawaii 5-0”.
Along with enlightening generations with his music Edwards also had his own line of guitars and made special appearances on shows like HBO’s “Deadwood”. According to the New York Times Edward died from an infection connected to a hip surgery he had last year. No details on services have been announced.
