The Christ Community Church in El Centro, is giving back to disadvantaged youths in their community.

Rudy James Carley, isn’t only the sound technician at the Christ Community church. But also the leader in their bike repair ministry that give refurbished bikes to disadvantage youths.
Carley said, “I grew up fixing bikes. So I wanted to use that to glorify God. And then I got with other gentlemen who do the same things, who love working with their hands and we fellowship together as well. We work as a team.”

The bike repair ministry preaches the gospel through their love of giving unto others. Rudy said, “the first time we did it,it was child walking up as we did it. All he had was a bike frame. And he said, Jesus was going to fix my bike. And that had, ll of us got fired up. Before long, that little boy was riding up and down the street riding his new bike and said, Jesus gave me my bike. And nothing felt better than that right there.”
Rudy says, the best part of giving children these bikes, are the look on their faces. “The thing I think is most beautiful, is when the children watches work on the bike. And the joy on their faces and anticipation of riding this bike. And the blessing to me is fixing it, and watching the children’s eyes grows as it’s happening. It’s like watching a rose bloom. ”
The bike repair ministry also works with the Imperial County Sheriff Department, who gives them unclaimed bikes. They ask that if anyone has bike parts or tires to donate, they’re more than happy to take them. The next event the ministry plans to hold will be the Saturday after Easter.
