Kofa students attend annual ASU AVID Conference

Six sophomores from the Kofa High School AVID program attended the 2018 Arizona State University AVID conference on the Tempe Campus Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

AVID, which stands for Advancement via Individual Determination, is a research-based program designed to train students and educators to be better students.

Educators use proven practices in order to prepare students for success at the college level, especially students traditionally underrepresented in higher education.

Nearly 600 students took part in exploring leadership topics and collaborate in problem-solving activities.

“It was a really fun and meaningful experience,” AVID student Kayla Correa said.
