Long Realty awards two realtors for community service

Two veteran associate brokers with Long Realty received recognition at an event held at the Tucson Convention Center on February 15, 2018.

The Samuel H. Woods Community Service Award for 2018 went to Peter DeLuca.

DeLuca qualified for the honor by “giving generously with both his time and financial support,” wrote Linda Moore. Moore cited DeLuca’s long history of volunteering for community-support efforts from disaster relief and hospice care to mental health services and cold-weather emergency homeless shelters

“He is the first one to pull out his wallet” for charitable causes, Moore wrote. “Peter donates without fanfare because he truly gives from his heart.”

The Barrington Long Lifetime Achievement Award for 2018 went to Ken Ryan.

Ryan, has been an associate broker since 1996 and is the son of company owner Roy H. Long. Along with the achievement award, Ryan was also president and owner of Long Realty from 1952 to 1980.

Don Geisler wrote that Ryan was “calm, focused, and always made everybody comfortable that strong leadership was in place to navigate the challenges of the lengthy, massive recession” that began in 2008. The recession led many real estate professionals to leave the industry.

Ryan was “directly responsible for helping hundreds, if not thousands of people through some of the truly darkest times in their lives” wrote Geisler.
