Chief Hank Green retires from San Luis Fire Department

The City of San Luis Fire Chief Hank Green has retired after 11 years of service with the city.

Prior to working for the City of San Luis, Chief Green served the City of Yuma Fire Department for thirty years and later retired as a battalion chief.

Chief Green began his career with the City of San Luis in 2007 as a temporary consultant then later was asked to stay to oversee the demands of a rapidly growing city and fire department.

In 2011, Chief Green negotiated an agreement with the City of Somerton, in which two ambulances were designated to service the San Luis area. 11 years ago, the ambulance service available in the city was provided by a private fire service company in Yuma.

In 2015, the City acquired certification from the state to operate its own ambulance service.

The City of San Luis City Council and City staff are immensely grateful to Chief Green for his honorable service to the community, and wish him all the best with his retirement.

Chief Hank Green plans to enjoy his retirement spending time with his wife, Pam, and his two granddaughters.
