FLOWER POWER
BUT ACCORDING TO ONE FLORIST THERE IS A POSITIVE TO THIS PARTICULAR HOLIDAY.
GREG MEZA OF VANNASH FLORIST SAYS THE BEST PART OF IT, “IS THE EXPERIENCE, NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT. WE HAVE A FAMILY OPERATED BUSINESS. MY MOTHER LEFT THIS FLOWER SHOP FOR ME, MY WIFE AND I RUN IT. AND I DO HAVE MY SISTER WORKING THE FRONT, WE DO HAVE MY AUNT, WE HAVE COUSINS, WE HAVE NEPHEWS DELIVERING. SO WE’RE FAMILY ORIENTATED. SO IT’S VERY FUN TO WORK WITH RELATIVES.”
SO IF YOU HAVEN’T ORDERED YOUR FLOWERS YET FOR YOUR SPECIAL SOMEONE THE LOCAL FLORISTS OF THE IMPERIAL VALLEY, ARE MORE THAN PREPARED FOR THE DEMANDS OF THIS VALENTINE’S DAY.
NO VALENTINE’S DAY IS COMPLETE WITH OUT FLOWERS. WE WENT OUT TO A FEW LOCAL FLOWER SHOPS IN THE IMPERIAL VALLEY, TO SEE WHAT BUSINESS IS LIKE FOR THEM, THIS TIME OF YEAR.
OUR FIRST STOP, WAS CYNTHIA’S FLOWER CONNECTION. WITH LAST MINUTE ORDERS AND SHOPPERS, THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THEY’VE BEEN PREPARING FOR. I SPOKE WITH THE MANAGER AT THE FLOWER SHOP TO GET HER SIDE ON WHAT IT’S GOING TO BE LIKE FOR THEM THIS WEEK.
JESSICA VERDUGO SAID, “IT’ VERY BUSY, WE HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE COMING IN AND OUT. WE HAVE A LOT OF EMPLOYEES HELPING US TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING GOES RIGHT FOR VALENTINES DAY. I MEAN I THINK IT’S BETTER TO COME IN PERSONALLY, TO SEE WHAT YOU’RE GOING TO GET, AND WE CAN WORK WITH YOU TO HELP YOU WITH YOUR ORDER. THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE IS THE LAST MINUTE CUSTOMERS COMING IN JUST TO MAKE SURE THEIR ORDERS GO OUT AT A CERTAIN TIME. WE ALWAYS TRY TO WORK WITH OUR CUSTOMERS THE BEST WE CAN.” AND WITH ONLY TWO DAYS LEFT UNTIL VALENTINES DAY, WORKERS AT THE FLOWER SHOP WERE GOING CLOCKWORK TO ENSURE THAT EVERY ORDER WAS MADE WITH LOVE AND CARE JUST TO MAKE IT THAT MUCH MORE SPECIAL FOR VALENTINES DAY.
