A Night to Shine in the Imperial Valley

For the first time in Imperial Valley, Night to Shine will grant special needs teenagers a prom to dance the night away.

With the collaboration of local churches, sponsors, and the Tim Tebow Foundation, it was a night to remember. Valley Christian Church’s youth minister explains how the grand event came to be.

“We’re very excited to have it here in the Imperial Valley for the first time. And as you can see, everyone’s having a goodtime, and it’s just off to an early start, so we still have a lot to go. Just being able to see the joy in all the participants that are walking in, the happiness, the big smiles, as they’re being greeted as they walk in to a good cheer. And being able to come in and spend some time with some friends, it’s very rewarding to be able to see that. We’re very excited that we were able to do this .”

The event kicked off at 6 p.m. Friday night with a red carpet affair. There were photo booths for the honored guests to take photos. Volunteers were also on hand to help with hair and make-up and emergency assistants were also there as a precaution.

The Tim Tebow Foundation created Night to Shine five years ago which has grown into a world-wide event and includes more than five hundred participating churches and cities.

With the love and grace of the community, support was shown at the event for the families with special needs children.
