One dead after train, car collision in Yuma

One fatality has been reported by the Yuma Police Department after a train collided with a vehicle.

Officials said a train hit a vehicle near Avenue 5 1/2E and the railroad tracks on Sunday, February 11th around 1:45 p.m.

The driver, a 36-year-old man, was in his white 2016 Toyota Sequioa driving westbound on the railroad tracks when it collided with the train heading eastbound.

The 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

No injuries were reported from the train crew.

This case is still under investigation.
