CBP officers detain meth smuggler at San Luis Port of Entry

Customs and Border Protection officers detained a 50-year-old Yuma woman who attempted to smuggle more than 41 pounds of methamphetamine in her Chevy Friday.

Officers stationed at the San Luis Port of Entry referred the woman for a secondary inspection where a narcotics-detection canine alerted to the firewall, as well as the doors. Multiple packages of meth, worth more than $123,000, were found inside the firewall of the Chevy.

CBP officers arrested and turned the Yuma resident over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations and seized the vehicle and drugs.
