Yuma Police releases stats for Christmas enforcement detail

During the weekend of Dec. 22nd through Dec. 25th, Yuma Police Department had an impaired driving enforcement detail to bring safety during the holidays.

Yuma Police was assisted by the Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety with the hopes to apprehend impaired drivers and discourage others from driving while impaired.

With 12 extra officers working, police logged 75 traffic stops that included four misdemeanor DUI arrests, one felony DUI arrest, 14 speeding citations issued, 37 violations cited for other than speeding, and eight impounded vehicles.
