Yuma International Airport presents award to Civil Air Patrol Squadron

The Yuma International Airport recognized the General Aviation family and awarded the Yuma’s Composite Squadron 508 Tuesday evening.

During the Airport’s General Aviation social event, Airport Director Gladys Wiggins introduced Civil Air Patrol’s Arizona Wing Commander, Colonel Martha Morris, who presented Yuma’s Composite Squadron 508 with the Unit Citation Award.

Colonel Morris explained the Unit Citation Award was earned through the Civil Air Patrol Squadron’s actions over the past couple of years through growth, state and local activity participation, and for exceptionally meritorious service from January 2016 to January 2017.

Colonel Morris congratulated the unit’s leaders and cadets for their dedication and hard work and thanked the Yuma International Airport for their support of their efforts.

Representative Charlene Fernandez was in attendance.

The cadets in the program are from Gila Ridge High School.
