Christmas Lights Parade shines in small town
City of Imperial celebrated its 15 th Annual Christmas Lights Parade.
Over a thousand people lined up downtown in the City of Imperial to watch the 15 th Annual Christmas Lights Parade. There were over a hundred entries with brightly lit floats, marching bands and various groups going down the street to the cheers and applause of the crowd. People brought blankets to brave the cold evening to enjoy this tradition, part of the city’s celebration of Christmas In A Small Town event. Santa arrived at the end of the parade to light the traditional city’s Christmas tree.
Larry Hudson, City of Imperial Lions Club President, said he has not missed a lights parade for the past 11 years.
“Seems like this year we really have a big turnout, more than we have had in other years. I really feel a real spirit out here. Everybody ‘s really enjoying themselves, and really having a good time,” Hudson said.
On Saturday, City of Imperial will celebrate its 29 th Annual Christmas In A Small Town, an event lasting all day.
