Armed robbery suspect arrested by police

Yuma Police have arrested a man for the armed robbery that happened Thursday. On Thursday at 10:00 p.m. police located 29-year-old Richard Weigelt who was found off 24th street and arrested for the incident. He’s set to appear in court today. We have a reporter on this story and will continue to update you as we learn more information.

An armed robbery was reported at the National Bank of Arizona located at 2415 S. Avenue A around 4:00 p.m. Thursday.

According to Yuma police, the male suspect verbally stated that he had a gun with him and demanded money. The suspect fled on foot prior to YPD arriving at the scene.

The suspect is described as a white male, late 20s early 30s, about 5’10”, weighing approximately 160-180 pounds with light brown hair, a mustache, and goatee.

There were no injuries reported.
