Vehicle collides into a home on 33rd Drive

UPDATE* The woman who lost control of her car, crashed through a brick wall and into a house in Yuma on Wednesday appeared in court today.

20-year-old Tia Hebert of Yuma was in court today after having been arrested and booked into the Yuma county adult detention center. YPD confirmed that alcohol did appear to be a factor and now she is facing several charges such as a DUI, criminal damage and reckless driving. Today in court, she plead not guilty. News 11 learned that the suspect drove her car into the room of the homeowners grandson. He was sleeping at the time and woke up to a loud bang. Luckily there were no reported injuries, other than the damage done to the house. Hebert is back in court December 5th.

The Yuma Police Department responded to an incident involving a vehicle colliding with a home in the area of the 1900 block of S. 33rd Drive early Wednesday.

An initial investigation revealed that 20-year-old Tia Hebert was driving eastbound on 20th Street at 12:17 a.m. when she lost control of her vehicle, went through a brick wall and collided with a residence in the 1900 block of S. 33rd Drive.

The residence had substantial structural damage and Hebert was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Adult Detention Center.

According to Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, she is facing 14 charges including six felonies and eight misdemeanors.

The incident is currently under investigation.
