Topic of the Day: Shocking development regarding electric cars

13 On Your Side wants to know your thoughts:

According to Forbes, sales of electric cars soared in 2016 and according to analysts the numbers are set to rise as manufacturers work out the kinks. According to Consumer Reports there are many benefits to owning an electric car; on the top of the list is gas prices, no more gas, no more price. Even the cost of electricity can be eliminated if your home is equipped with solar system.

But, one incentive in particular is on the chopping block and with the GOP looking to make serious cuts in the coming weeks the electric car tax credit may be no more and that may affect sales. Presently, only a few states offer an electric car subsidy which ranges around $7,500. On the low end some electric cars can run between $26,000 to $30,000 and as high as a million-two.

13 On Your Side wants to know your thoughts:

Should taxpayers continue to subsidize the cost for those buying electric cars?
