General Election Preview

The General Election is this Tuesday and we spoke with the city to get the last minute details on what you need to know right before election day.

November 7th is your chance to speak up and be heard, as Yumans will elect three members of the Yuma city council out of the six remaining candidates.

Polls open at 6am that day and will stay open until 7pm that night. You must bring proper identification in order to vote. Public Affairs Coordinator, Dave Nash explains what those who don’t have the proper form of identification can do in order to participate.

“There is a whole list of other identifications, if you don’t have a photo id that’s available. Both on our website and the Yuma county election section of their website that tells you what you would have to bring in order to vote in the polls. If you’re holding on to your early ballot all the way to Tuesday, you can drop it off not just at the recorders office, but also at any of the three vote centers that are going to be open,” said Nash.

The MLK center, The Yuma Civic Center and the Community Christian Church near Araby road are the three centers that will be open and if you didn’t request an early ballot form and you don’t think you will have time to vote on Tuesday, the recorders office will be open on both Saturday and Sunday.
