Fatal rollover claims the life of a 21-year-old man

A fatal rollover claimed the life of a 21-year-old Somerton resident after his vehicle rolled over at around 8:17 a.m. near South Avenue B and East Main Canal Thursday morning.

Based on the initial investigation, Pete Marlow Rose was driving a silver 1999 Honda Accord eastbound on East Main Canal.

When Rose attempted to travel off the north side of the road, he lost control and caused the vehicle to roll over into a Citrus Grove field.

Rose was unresponsive on the scene and was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Two passengers in the Honda Accord were also transported to YRMC with serious injuries.

The case remains under investigation and Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the collision.
