42-year-old man stabbed in El Centro

The El Centro Police Department responded to a call of a stabbing involving a 42-year-old transient in El Centro Sunday evening.

Upon arrival on scene, officers contacted the male victim who had been stabbed multiple times and suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries.

He was transported to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

A witness, who was at a nearby gas station, called the police after witnessing an altercation involving what was described as three Hispanic males at the intersection of Imperial and Main.

According to the witness, the subjects ran across the street into a nearby parking lot and fled the scene in a silver-colored new model Chevy Tahoe or GMC Yukon SUV.

The vehicle was seen fleeing the location of the incident and was driving northbound on Imperial Avenue.
