Man found with meth arrested

The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said a man is behind afters officers found meth in his vehicle.

Last Friday at approximately 11:51 PM, officers with the Yuma Police Department (YPD) conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation on a Chevrolet coupe in the area of Arizona Ave. and 24 th St. in Yuma, Ariz. During the course of the traffic stop, YPD said multiple baggies of methamphetamine with a combined weight of approximately 70 grams were discovered. The methamphetamine has an approximate street value of $2,800.00.

Agents with the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force (YCNTF)–which is a multi-agency task force comprised of officers and agents from the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, the Yuma Police Department, the Somerton Police Department, the U.S. Border Patrol, and the U.S. Homeland Security Investigations– responded to assist with the drug offense.

The driver of the vehicle, Jesus Solorzano, 38, of Yuma, Ariz. was arrested and booked into the Yuma County Detention Center for transportation of a dangerous drug, possession of a dangerous drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
