Family heading to Yuma involved in crash

Maricopa County Animal Care and Control are looking for your help in finding the owners of a dog and a kitten that were on their way to Yuma with a family when they were involved in a crash.

Jose Miguel Santiago, public information officer with MCACC said a man stopped by Tuesday with the pets. The man’s wife helps with animal rescues. She picked up the dog and kitten with her two children from Las Vegas. She was then tasked with delivering the pets to a location in Yuma.

Santiago said during this trip the woman along with the children and animals were involved in a terrible car accident. The husband was informed of the accident and finds out his wife and children are all hospitalized with critical injuries.

Santiago said when the husband arrived to the hospital he was told the dog and kitten are in the car and are now his responsibility.

The man does not know where in Vegas the animals were picked up. He doesn’t know where in Yuma his wife was heading.

MCACC has reached out to several rescue groups in Yuma and no one is aware of this “special” delivery. They are now are trying to either find where these two animals should go or find a foster/adoptive family for them.

If you have any information on where these pets may have been heading contact Maricopa County Animal Care and Control at (602) 506-7387.
