Cibola alumnae receive prestigious FFA degree
Three Cibola High School alumnae were chosen to receive the 2017 American Future Farmers of America (FFA) Degree.
Class of 2016’s Kieren Faulkner, Hannah Harken, and Katlyn Ogram will receive the honor during at the 90th FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis, IN. on Oct. 24th.
Only 1 percent of more than 600,000 FFA members receive the award.
“Cibola FFA is extremely proud of these young ladies,” Cibola CTE teacher and FFA adviser Erika Derma said. “We cannot wait to watch them receive their degrees.”
The American FFA Degree is one of the organization’s highest honors. In addition to their degree, each recipient receives a gold American FFA Degree key.
Faulkner was an officer for the state of Arizona during the 2016-17 school year and the Arizona Nationals Livestock Show Ambassador for 2017-18.
Harken is in her second year at Texas Tech University after receiving the Bill Alexander “Built Ford Tough” Scholarship.
Ogram was awarded the Mildred and Margaret Fitch scholarship in 2015-16. She is attending Arizona Western College.
