AWC Massage Therapy Program donates cases of water to Yuma Community Food Bank

The Arizona Western College (AWC) Massage Therapy Program donated over 80 cases of water to the Yuma Community Food Bank on Monday, Aug. 7.

During the month of July, the massage therapy program collected cases of water that were donated by clients.

The program also accepted a special $15 fee for massages through the month of July with the proceeds directed to the AWC Student Massage Clinic. These funds helped support scholarships and extra-curricular activities.

“It’s an important part of our program to demonstrate giving back to our community,” said Kate Turpin, Professor/Coordinator Licensed Massage Therapy. “And this was a fun project that was well-received.”

The AWC Massage Therapy Program is a three-semester program that provides students with the required training to apply for an Arizona State license.

Seats for the program are still available for the semester of Fall 2017. For more information (928) 317-6056 or email massagetherapy@azwestern.edu
